Manuel de Sousa Soares Sr., 87 of Gustine passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2024 in Newman, California.

Mr. Soares was born in St. Jorge, Azores to parents, Antonio Soares and Helen de Sousa. He brought his family to America in 1969. He was a long-time resident of Gustine. He was a very hardworking man who dedicated over 50 years of his life to dairy work. He loved his family, animals, and working with his hands. 

Mr. Soares is survived by his sons, George Soares of Gustine, Manuel Soares of Newman, brother, Elias Soares of Canada, sister, Lourdes Soares of Canada, 5 grandchildren, Bernadette Soares Ornelas, Krystle Soares, George Soares, Kristy Soares and Kathy Soares, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held at 8:30 am to 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am, Monday, November 18th 2024 at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Gustine. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.
