Maria Borges Gomes, 90 of Gustine, CA passed away on February 6, 2025 at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, CA.
Mrs. Gomes was born in Serreta, Azores to Jose and Diolinda Teixeira Maria was a resident of Gustine for many years. She was married to Joe T. Gomes.
Mrs. Gomes is survived by her brother, Jose Henrique and his wife, Maria Amelia Teixeira; sister, Ana Rosa Vicencia and her husband, Carlos Albert Vicenica who has passed; sister-in-law, Odilia Gomes and her husband, Manuel Gomes who has passed and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Cesar (Ariel) Teixeira and Bernandino (Oldmira) Teixeira.
A Visitation will be held at 9:00am to 10:00am, followed by a Rosary and Mass at 10:00am, Friday, February 21, 2025, at The Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery.

Mary Oliveira of Gustine, California has passed away at the age of 92. She was born in Tracy, California to Manuel da Rosa and Julia Furtado Bulcao. She married Manuel Oliveira, and together they raised their 8 children. She attended the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles Church of Gustine, and was a devout Catholic.
Mary enjoyed genealogy, putting together binders of family history for her family. She also enjoyed making stained glass art.
Mrs. Oliveira is survived by her children; Rosemary Oliveira of Fresno, Frank (Sheri) Oliveira of Gustine, John Oliveira of Tracy, Teresa (Richard) Oliveira-Owens of Beaumont, Tom Oliveira of Gustine, Mike (Carly) Oliveira of Modesto, and Julia (Walter) Resendes of Modesto; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her husband Manuel F. Oliveira, son Manuel A. Oliveira, her parents Manuel and Julia Bulcao, and sisters Rosaline Escobar and Phyllis Breves.
A Visitation and Rosary will be held on Monday, February 17th from 5-7pm at the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles Church in Gustine, California. Mass will be held at the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles Church in Gustine, California on Tuesday, February 18th at 10am. Burial will follow at the Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman, California.
